Eve Schoeffler (b. 2001) built her model of the world through drawing in a small town in New Jersey. The patience that the practice requires lent itself to uncountable hours of quiet noticing through her childhood. As she grew older, her attention shifted from the chickadees and house finches in her backyard to the faces of her peers, surreptitiously sketched in a small notebook during class.
Eve began to develop her academic skills in portraiture at fourteen years old through classes at Grand Central Atelier. Her first visit to the studio shifted the ground beneath her feet as she realized the worlds within worlds that true observation of nature could reveal. She now studies there full-time to hone her innate leaning. Her current work gives the viewer a sense of presence and beauty, revealed through patient and meticulous contemplation.
